Considering I will be talking about a variety of topics, I thought it would be a good idea to lay down some general policies regarding those topics. These policies aren't completely rigid, but they will be general guidelines for how I approach the different topics I will be talking about.
Regarding Politics:
As I said in my "About Me" post, I approach politics generally from a liberal progressive point of view. Keep this in mind when you read political posts that contain my opinions or viewpoints. I'm not partisan (adherent to the Democratic party line), but I do have my agreements and disagreements with liberalism, progressivism and the various political entities in this country. I often say that my opinions don't line up with most people, but I hope you will be able to find value in what I have to say. I may not be very good at debating/arguing given my desire to find common ground and agreement (or agreement to disagree), but I still have plenty to say. Make sure you read my entire post before you get outraged. I will only attempt to write about something when I feel that I understand the issue and can make a complete point.
Regarding Anime:
As a general rule, I usually seek out English dubs of anime. An English dub tends to make the anime in question more watchable in my opinion because I'm not trying to read subtitles while also trying to watch what's going on. This isn't a hard rule (since I've watched anime that either don't have an English dub or do and I'm too lazy to find the dub), but it is a preferred rule. Keep this in mind when recommending anime for me to watch. Continuing along, I'm also rather averse to long series. I generally watch anime that is no longer than the standard 26 episodes. I have no problem watching movies, OVAs and so on, but I generally avoid series that have dozens if not hundreds of episodes for the sake of time and understanding. I'm open to many different genres of anime, so I'm open to seeing new stuff and broadening my horizons. If I can give a recommendation, I will try to as best I can.
Regarding Video Games:
I'm open to almost any kind of game or topic in the industry, except realistic sports/racing games (like NASCAR and Madden) and wrestling games. Other than those, I'm willing to play anything and talk about whatever strikes my fancy. This area is not limited to just games, so don't expect just game reviews or rants about bad games. Money is the deciding factor of what games I can play, so please bear with me if money does not allow me to play a new game. If I can give a recommendation or opinion on a game or topic, I will try to make it as clear and to-the-point as possible. Try not to get butthurt if I don't have something nice to say about something you like.
Regarding Music:
In the same vein as video games, I'm open to most kinds of music. To say my tastes in music are eclectic and diverse would be an understatement. I can find interest in any kind of music that isn't filthy gangster rap, slow depressing country music or screamo. Other than that, I'm willing to listen to most anything. However, my favorite music genres are electronic, dance and pop. Please keep these things in mind if I don't have anything nice to say about your favorite song or genre. Also, I won't participate in the nonsense debate over what is "real music". If it has a beat, can be written on a music staff and has rhythm, it has all the components of music. There's more to music than classic rock that's over 30 years old.
Like I said previously, these policies are not rigid and are subject to change and expansion. You have been warned. Enjoy your time here!
